What is Supported Independent Living (SIL)?

Supported Independent Living or SIL is a type of NDIS funding that provides support to people with disabilities. It is often a 24/7 support to assist the participant’s growth and development towards independence.

The SIL support includes managing household tasks and personal care. We partner with you to enhance foundational daily living skills and pursue your goals.

Three Levels of SIL Funding
  • Lower Needs regular support for living arrangements where 24/7 care is not required.
  • Standard Needs This requires 24/7 assistance.
  • Higher Needs refers to complex cases where active assistance is required. It includes help with managing frequent challenging behaviour.
What Does SIL Funding Covers
  • Personal care
  • Meal preparation
  • Assistance with household tasks
  • Medication management
  • Support with challenging behaviours
  • Overnight care and 24/7 support
Please note: SIL funding does not cover utility bills and household supplies.
